It is time to Continue this Conversation!

I am please to launch The BOB KROLL CENTRE for STUTTERING AND SPEECH NL Facebook group page.

Since retiring in 2017 and returning to my Newfoundland roots, I have had a personal Vision of establishing a not for profit Centre for Stuttering and Speech in Newfoundland and Labrador. A Centre that will provide specialized, subsidized clinical treatment programs, services, and supports for preschool, school age children, adolescents, adults, seniors, and supports for our families under ONE ROOF.

Continuing this Conversation is my way of paying it back, by paying it forward with sincere gratitude and appreciation for the overwhelming life time of clinical, personal and professional support that I have received for my severe stutter.

As a person who stutters, I feel that few people can fully understand how stuttering can significantly compromise the quality of life and mental health of people who stutter. Stuttering and other communication disorders can have detrimental affects on lives; emotionally, educationally, vocationally, physically, socially, personal and professional relationships, decisions and behaviours.

As I move forward Continuing this Conversation about establishing a not for profit BOB KROLL CENTRE for STUTTERING AND SPEECH NL, this page is my a way of including others in this Conversation and to provide ongoing Building Project Progress Updates.
As I provide Building Project Progress Updates, I welcome your feedback, thoughts and suggestions.

Dr. Robert (Bob) Kroll passed away on March 17, 2021.  Bob had a distinguished career with the Speech and Stuttering Institute (SSI) in Toronto as a clinician, Executive Director and Chair of the Board of Directors.  As a clinician, researcher and administrator who helped countless people who stuttered and others with communication challenges, over his decades-long career, his legacy will be carried on by everyone that has benefited personally and professionally, from his work, mentorship and friendship.  As my own speech therapist, Dr. Kroll had a significant influence on my life clinically, personally and professionally.

To honour Dr. Robert (Bob) Kroll's spirit and legacy, this Centre will be officially named, The Bob Kroll Centre for Stuttering and Speech Newfoundland and Labrador.  Dr. Kroll's spirit and legacy will continue to live on through the  establishment of the not for profit BOB KROLL CENTRE for STUTTERING AND SPEECH NL.

Bob's family has given their permission to name this Center after Bob. Find the Facebook Group page here.
