Alexandra D’Agostino here, Family and Youth Programming Coordinator of the CSA! For the last few months I have been planning 2 full days of youth programming we are offering at our upcoming in person conference at the Crowne Plaza in Niagara Falls, Ontario from October 21-23! Along with my committee, we have been hard at work curating a wonderful and enticing program of workshops for youth ages 6-11! We will be offering a wide variety of workshops including, but not limited to; youth improvisation, poetry slam, artwork and comic creation workshops, speed friending, and so much more! Parents can be rest assured that we are creating a safe and fun family friendly environment for their children! With a sign in/sign out system, a Registered Nurse (myself) on site, along with volunteers and board members specifically chosen to supervise and lead workshops in one main room, parents can drop off their kids with a sound mind before heading off to attend their own workshops for the day! Announcements and introductions will be made at our opening ceremony, and directions will be given to where to drop off your kids before the first workshop of the day!

This year we are also offering other moving and life changing workshops for parents, as well as a special one of a kind workshop to help connect parents with their children who stutter, like never before! I myself can vouch for how amazing and life changing going to my first stuttering conference with my parents was, and we have never looked back! It brought us closer together and gave my parents insight into my stuttering world they never fully understood until coming to this type of conference. And our relationship is still going just as strong 11 years later! This will be an event for your family you won’t want to miss! The CSA has been lucky and grateful for the support Harmonize for Speech, who wanted to support children who stutter and their families. Thanks to their generosity, the CSA is able to make registration affordable for families so they may benefit from our family and youth workshops at this year’s conference!
