Stuttersocial.com, a website created to give people who stutter (PWS) a central location to find out about Google+ Hangouts, has been launched.  A "Google+ Hangout" is a group video conference call where you can see and talk to up to 10 people at a time.  You'll need a Google+ account in order to participate in a Hangout.

Philip Garber Jr., the teen who made headlines when his teacher at a New Jersey college asked him not to talk in class, is interviewed by Peter Reitzes on the site StutterTalk. He discusses the controversy surrounding the incident and his feelings in light of all the attention it has received.

The magazine Canadian Health and Lifestyle has published an article about stuttering.

It's that time of year again, and the International Stuttering Awareness Day Conference is online!

UPDATE (AUG 2013) Unfortunately since this article was published commitments have changed for those involved and there is currently no plan to bring the McGuire program to Canada. We will feature an update for our readers if this changes.

So often, we pass judgments on people by our first impressions of them, often without giving it a second thought. But how often do we take the time to look beyond our first  impressions of someone? How often do we make the effort to engage with someone even after the first impression of them may not have been what we expected or desired?
