A Personal Stuttering Story: How I Got Better

In 1971, by some stroke of luck, I came to stop stuttering. I do not profess to be an expert in stuttering, or to be able to provide a solution for anyone's stutter. However, so many lived years later, I believe that my story needs to be told and shared, with the hope that it could help even a single other person who stutters to find the free and joyful self-expression I enjoyed over many years. Thanks to the CSA for inviting me to share it. This workshop is for you, for each of you, from the heart.

Les résultats de l'atelier

I believe that my story needs to be told and shared, not only to satisfy my own desire to better understand what happened, or why it happened, but most of all, with the hope that it could help even a single other person who stutters to find the free and joyful self-expression I enjoyed over many years.

À propos des présentateurs/présentatrices

Don McLean

Don McLean attended his first CSA conference in 2023. Despite having "lost" his stutter in early adulthood, the conference reawakened feelings from when he used to stutter, and he felt a reassuring sense of belonging, of having come home. Don has since written several articles for the CSA newsletter.
