August 21-23 under the roof of the Delta Hotel in St. John’s, an Historical Event, the 1st Joint Canadian Stuttering Association (CSA) and Newfoundland and Labrador Stuttering Association (NLSA) "AT HOME WITH STUTTERING CONFERENCE" happened!

The NLSA is still absorbing this incredible, phenomenal milestone and successful weekend of history being made. A history that has and will continue to permeate the walls of the Delta Hotel, having ripple effects throughout the stuttering community in our province. To quote an NL statement, ‘it was a time had by all’. There are no words to express how grateful, honoured and privileged the NLSA has been to have worked with such an amazing CSA Team for almost a year planning and preparing to bring this phenomenal event to fruition.
As I, Greg O'Grady, Chair and co-founder of the NLSA, shared in several of my previous live Facebook posts leading up to this historical event, there is no way of sugar coating it: the NL stuttering community has been decades in the making a “have not, forgotten and voiceless community in our province”.
Having the CSA take a chance on the NLSA by hosting their annual conference in Newfoundland and Labrador, the CSA has helped chisel away and to change this narrative of a “have not, forgotten and voiceless community to becoming a “NO MORE have not, forgotten and voiceless community" in our province.
Again, there are no words to express NLSA’s sincere gratitude and appreciation.
On behalf of the NLSA, thank YOU to all of our attendees who travelled far and wide within NL, nationally and globally, and to our workshop inspirational speakers for your contributions helping the stuttering community, our families, allies and friends continue our individual journeys towards being … AT HOME WITH STUTTERING.
