Press Release: Canadian Stuttering Association Unveils Bold New Logo Celebrating Identity and Empowerment

Canadian Stuttering Association

TORONTO, Jan 1, 2026: The Canadian Stuttering Association (CSA) today announced the launch of its new logo and brand identity, marking a significant milestone in the organization's mission to foster acceptance and support for Canadians who stutter.

Stuttering is a neurological speech difference that affects over 410,000 Canadians across all ages and backgrounds. Despite affecting approximately 1% of the population, stuttering remains widely misunderstood. There is currently no known cure for stuttering, yet people who stutter often experience significant stigma and shame, leading many to expend enormous effort attempting to sound fluent in their daily lives.

"The expectation that all people should sound fluent is neither reasonable nor necessary," said Eeva Stierwalt, National Coordinator of the CSA, speaking on behalf of the CSA Board. "Stuttering is simply the way some people talk, and those who stutter deserve to be accepted and valued as they are."

The Canadian Stuttering Association has, since 1991, worked to support people who stutter, their families, and allies through advocacy, education, and community building. The organization's new visual identity reflects this commitment with renewed energy and purpose.

A bold new logo empowering two meanings: The Canadian Stuttering Association's new logo blends together its Canadian identity with a statement that "you can" stutter.

This powerful dual symbolism reinforces the CSA's core belief that stuttering is not something to hide or overcome, but an integral part of how many Canadians communicate.

The refreshed brand identity comes at a crucial time as the CSA continues expanding its programs and resources to reach more Canadians who stutter and to educate the broader public about acceptance and inclusion.
