The Not Just One Day petition launches February 14, to promote positive depictions of people who stutter in media.
CSA’s mission is to promote awareness and understanding of stuttering and to help people who stutter achieve their full personal and professional potential. Unfortunately, portrayals of people who stutter are rarely seen in Canadian media, culture, and entertainment. This lack of visibility, and in some cases negative portrayals of people who stutter, makes it difficult for the CSA and other organizations to normalize stuttering and help those who stutter to feel accepted and at ease when they talk.
It is for this reason the CSA is in solidarity with our sister organizations in Australia, UK, U.S., Israel, Ghana, Chile, Peru, Colombia, and others to support the Not Just One Day Petition. Our goal is to collectively receive one million signatures by International Stuttering Awareness Day on October 22, 2022.
We hope you will join us as we call upon the media and entertainment industry to include those who stutter and give us a voice and a platform to be heard. Sign the petition today.
