New interview with Kim Block

Kim Block has been interviewed by the Canadian School Libraries Journal website. Kim is a CSA member and was the keynote speaker for the CSA conference last year. She has been involved for many years in advocating for people who stutter, including being president of the British Columbia Association for People who Stutter and frequently speaking at schools to help educate children about stuttering. She has launched a series of children's books featuring a superhero character who stutters. Check out the  interview!

McGuire Program Canadian Dates Announced

mcguireThe McGuire Program, an intensive treatment program for adults who stutter, will be taking place in Toronto July 25 - 29, 2018. This course is facilitated by people who stutter who have graduated from the program and trained to be instructors. Those who graduate from the program and become members can connect with other graduates around the world for support and coaching. The city of Toronto has a good local support group who meet regularly to practice. If you have already graduated, you can attend for a refresher course!  Go here for more information.

Submit a workshop proposal for our fall conference

confDo you have an idea for a workshop to present at our conference on October 20? Popular topics are coping techniques, the effect of stuttering on work and personal relationships, the effect on the family, approaches to stuttering therapy and research. Some workshops introduce fun, interactive games and others may feature serious discussion of family interactions and emotional issues. The deadline is June 15. Summer program in Ottawa for youth who stutter

youthThere is a week-long day camp for teens who stutter being offered in Ottawa this summer through University of Ottawa Health Services. This program is designed to give teenagers who stutter a safe and supportive place in which to “let stuttering out.” By studying their own pattern of stuttering, they are guided in making decisions about how to manage their speech. The dates are July 09-13, 2018, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily. Canadian Stuttering Association Conference announced

Back by popular demand, it will be a special combination of seminars, interactive workshops and unstructured social time for people who stutter, family and friends of people who stutter, speech language pathologists and students of speech language pathology!
