1. To argue one’s point of view on their feet within a supportive, yet competitive environment
2. To practice thinking on one's feet focusing on arguments versus stuttering
3. To practice public speaking in a fun and safe environment
4. To observe and learn from others arguing their points using different styles
5. To practice active listening to others debating
6. To learn more about argumentation, rhetorical devices, and debate
About the presenters
Carla Di Domenicantonio
Carla Di Domenicantonio is a CSA volunteer, Board member and an ally to persons who stutter (PWS), their families and friends. She is excited to provide this opportunity for you to practice persuasive language in a safe and welcoming setting.
David Liu
David is a person who stutters. He recently graduated from Western University in London, Ontario and is currently a medical student at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.
Rawan Aldaqes
Rawan Aldaqes is a CSA volunteer, Speech-Language Assistant, and former Toastmaster's member passionately working and learning from people who stutter. Rawan is excited to present the debate workshop with fun topics to argue, laugh, and STUTTER together!
