The Magic of Relational Presence: an Introduction to Speaking Circles

This experiential session will introduce Relational Presence, a practice central to the Speaking Circles method for breaking down social and performance anxiety in public-speaking. Participants will practice connecting in the roles of speaker and audience member, relax into authentic communication, and shift from stressed to "at ease." The session is limited to six PWS to allow sufficient practice.

Outcomes

Participants can expect to:

  • Feel themselves relax as they are freed from the expectations of having to speak and as they settle into personal connection with members of the audience
  • Be fully accepted and accept others, without judgment, advice or feedback; and
  • Leave the session primed to achieve personal connection with future listeners.
