We are excited to host the 2025 CSA conference in the historic city of Kingston, Ontario. Kingston was named the first capital of the United Province of Canada in 1841 and was home to Sir John A. Macdonald, Canada’s first Prime Minister at Confederation in 1867. Kingston is known for its grand 19th century limestone buildings, historic Fort Henry, and vibrant live music scene. It is also home to Queen’s University.
Kingston’s 17th century name was Fort Cataraqui (pronounced ka-tə-ROK-way), an Indigenous name alleged to mean “Great Meeting Place”. We thought it fitting to hold our conference at this “great meeting place” where our voices and paths as people who stutter can unite as we share, learn, support, and celebrate together. There is a sense of belonging and community inherent to “our meeting” that draws people back year after year. We hope to share these same experiences with past and new attendees in Kingston.
Our conferences welcome school-age children, teens and adults who stutter, parents and spouses, aunts and uncles, grandparents, teachers, coaches, speech-language pathologists, speech-language pathology students, and anyone whose life is affected by stuttering. Everyone is welcome to learn about stuttering, engage with others, and have a great time!
Mark your calendars and begin planning your visit.
Keynote Speakers
There will be two keynotes, one for each full day of the conference. More details to follow later, check back for the exciting announcement!
Workshop Proposals
Workshops are a cornerstone of our conference, offering a space where ideas, stories, and experiences of people who stutter come together.
Workshop proposals for 2025 are now open!
This is an opportunity to share your experiences, insights, expertise, and ideas with others. Consider leading a workshop if you are a person who stutters, parent or spouse of someone who stutters, or a speech-language pathologist. By presenting a workshop, you’ll help shape the conversation, inspire others, and contribute to the success of this year’s conference. Workshops will take place on both Saturday and Sunday.
Looking for inspiration? Browse the conference programs from the last few years for workshop and topic ideas. You will find personal stories, research-related topics, sessions involving games, learning activities, sessions that promote creativity, and discussion panels. We love a variety of interactive sessions!
Registration Rates
Get ready! Registration for our upcoming conference opens at the beginning of May.
Youth Program
We are excited to announce our updated full day Youth Program! This year we are offering a two day "camp style" program for youth who stutter and their siblings/friends ages 6 to 12. Campers will explore their various communication abilities and work to build their self-confidence through various activities involving meaningful and fun crafting, improv, drawing, writing, games, and more! Campers who attend this full day programming will build lasting bonds with peers who share common experiences and who understand what the other is going through, being free to practice speaking with other children their age. With a sign in & out system and adults always present, parents can rest assured that their child is in good hands while they attend their own workshops throughout the day!
We provide special family rates for families with children who stutter.
Banquet
A highlight of the conference, the Saturday night banquet offers a chance to dress up and enjoy an evening of great food, entertainment, and camaraderie. Attendees can look forward to a delicious three-course meal, entertainment, and a DJ to keep the dance floor lively. It’s a perfect opportunity to relax, celebrate, and connect with both new and familiar faces.
By popular demand, a second Talent Show is planned for entertainment as part of this year’s banquet! If you didn’t get to share and showcase your talent last year, here is your chance!
The performer application form, and additional details about the banquet, will be available shortly.
