Beyond the Fear

Mary Wood

Sunday 11:45AM - 12:45PM EDT

Long-time and well-loved conference presenter, Mary Wood, will look at what fear means – a “Fantasized Experience that Appears Real.” She will focus on the fear of rejection that can be one of the main reasons behind stuttering. Her workshop will examine fear as negative thoughts we have about ourselves when our self esteem is not good. It’s there when we’re unsure, when we’re scared, when we feel we might be rejected, not loved or accepted just as we are. Join Mary for her latest inspiring talk about self acceptance and courage!

What to expect

As we begin to learn and understand the fear that is present when we stutter, then we learn that we have a choice. The choice to keep doing what we’ve been doing for perhaps many years, learning about why it is there and who we are because of this, and then making another choice to release what doesn’t serve us any more.

About the presenter

Mary first attended a conference for people who stutter in Ottawa in 1993 and presented a workshop on self-esteem. Since then, Mary has presented at conferences in Canada, the United States, Europe and Great Britain. In 2005, she was ordained as a Unity minister.
