A Curse to a Blessing: How I Learned to Write and Speak My Way to Stuttering Liberation

Ryan Cowley

Sunday 11:45AM - 12:45PM EDT

This workshop is a spiritual (non religious) look at healing and how it can affect a person who stutters. Roxanne will introduce a heart centered approach to what may be hiding behind the stutter. She will share her story of trauma, healing and triumph from stuttering to fluency. What are “triggers”? Where do triggers come from? Why triggers are important? There will be time for discussion and questions.

What to expect

I want to prove that while I will be covering my career, you don’t have to have a passion for sportswriting/journalism. My story applies to any walk of life, sending a message not to let speaking requirements deter your passion. I also want to express the message that, like anything in life worth having, this does not come easy. So, let this be a reminder to work hard and often at what you want to do but feel excited and not obligated.

I may not disclose my specific age but I didn’t start doing phone interviews until my 30s. So, don’t think it’s too late because it never is.
