Advocacy Parents

Imagine all of those unasked or unanswered potentially challenging/awkward/tense stuttering related questions swimming around in your brain. Would you like the chance to be able to get rid of them? Are you a parent of a child or adult who stutters? If you answered yes to both of those questions, then this workshop is for you! This workshop is designed for parents to be able to ask any questions they might be afraid or worried to ask their own children from a panel of hand picked, well spoken and confident youth of various ages of the CSA. The youth panel is here to be open and honest, and to answer any question you might have. Parents, this is your chance to gain a new perspective or point of view to deepen your relationship with your child or adult who stutters!

What to expect

This workshop will hopefully be a catalyst for informing and improving the relationships between parents and their children who stutter. It will hopefully create openings for conversations between parents and their children, as well as give parent’s some perspective and an inside look into how their children might feel being a person who stutters. Being around other parents of children who stutter, will also help the parents to feel like they are not alone in parenting a person who stutters.
