A Professional Development Opportunity for Speech-Language Pathologists and Speech-Language Pathology Student on Friday, August 21, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (NT).
This workshop is coupled with the CanStutter (CS) and the Newfoundland and Labrador Stuttering Association (NLSA) Conference 2026 “At Home with Stuttering” in St. John’s, NL, August 21 to 23.
This workshop will summarize current assessment and treatment of school age children. It will identify ways to successfully involve the child and their family in the process, reviewing the most recent evidence-based treatments for stuttering in this age group. Highlights will include monitoring progress in therapy, collaborating with parents and teachers for success, and choosing the best treatment match for the child. The workshop will include case presentation to support treatment decisions, problem solving methodology when treatment is not progressing, and options for group and individual treatment. The one-day workshop will be interactive and provide opportunities for discussion of the main topics.
An outline of the day will be available soon.
