CSA x SingWell: Toronto Stuttering Singing Group

We are delighted to announce that the Canadian Stuttering Association (CSA) is partnering with The SingWell Project to start a weekly singing group for those who stutter and are living near or in Toronto, Canada.

This is intended to be a safe, inclusive, judgment-free space for people who stutter to engage in a meaningful group activity with others in the stuttering community. Prior singing or music experience is not necessary to participate. This is not a performance-based group, it is simply an engaging group activity for people who stutter in the Toronto area to sing, allowing them to connect with others, and have fun.

What is The SingWell Project?

SingWell’s mission is to help people harness the power of group singing to promote wellbeing. Based at Toronto Metropolitan University, SingWell brings together an international network of leading researchers who are examining the impacts of group singing on wellbeing and communication function. SingWell also works with partners across Canada with a role to play in activating the power of group singing for wellbeing.

If you decide to join the Toronto Stuttering Singing Group, SingWell will invite you to optionally participate in their research study. This research aims to explore the potential effects of group singing for adults who stutter. Although participation in the research is not mandatory, we encourage you to learn more about the project by visiting SingWell’s Recruitment Page.
