Treatment Speech Language Pathologists

If you are a speech clinician looking for fun, creative, and effective ways to help clients ‘open up’ and engage as they confront their stutter, this session is for you! Speech-Language Pathologist Carla Di Domenicantonio will explore with author and cartoonist Daniele Rossi some ways in which his book ‘Stuttering is Cool: A Guide to Stuttering in a Fast Talking World', which features a resilient fox that stutters named ‘Franky Banky’, can be used in speech therapy with school-age children, adolescents, adults and parents on their paths of discovery, understanding, acceptance, empowerment and advocacy. Anyone is welcome to attend this session.

What to expect

SLPs and SLP students will be introduced to Daniele Rossi’s book, learn and explore how the book or elements from the book can be used in achieving therapy goals, especially in relation to emotional and cognitive aspects of therapy. PWS and parents can also benefit from this session.
