Support Group for children who stutter starts up in St. John's

fluency friendsSt. John's, Newfoundland has a new support group for children who stutter. Speech-language pathologist Ashley Rossiter has started up a 6-week program that takes a peer-based approach to create positive experiences with stuttering. The sessions will run in August and September at the Newfoundland and Labrador Down Syndrome Society. See Groups page for more information.


Save the Date! 6th Annual 1K/5K Walk & Run for Stuttering Awareness Sep 24!

walkathonFor the 6th year, the Annual 1K/5K Walk for Stuttering Awareness will take place on September 24, 2017. This is an annual event that helps to raise money for the Speech and Stuttering Institute, a clinic in Toronto that provides therapy for people who stutter. View photos of past years here!

Her talk will be engaging and informative for people of all ages, as she shares her thoughts on self-help, how her home and work life are affected by stuttering, coping skills and the role of self-help groups in our lives. ideasThe 2017 Canadian Stuttering Association Conference, to take place on Saturday October 28, is looking for workshop proposals and is open for registration. This is our fourth exciting year! This event is a social and educational experience for people whose lives are affected by stuttering. 2017 Canadian Stuttering Association Conference

The 2017 Annual CSA Conference will take place on October 28, 2017. It will be at the University of Toronto campus, Innis College, 2 Sussex Ave, Toronto, ON. For those who are interested in presenting a workshop, the form is now available here.
